Bastrop Police Chief Mitch Stephens said U.S. 165 reopened to vehicle traffic by late afternoon.
The area has been closed following a crash that occurred early Sunday afternoon when a Train Wreck In Mer Rouge transport truck became hung on the tracks as it attempted to cross.
Two engines and more than a dozen train cars were involved in the accident. One rail car was carrying argon gas, which began leaking following the accident.

The driver of the truck jumped from his truck before the collision with the train and was uninjured.
Two engineers remain hospitalized in University Health Shreveport in serious but stable condition Train Wreck In Mer Rouge.
One reportedly has a compound fracture, and the other may have a fractured spine.
The names of the injured engineers are not yet available.
