Joachim Held, 43, has been filed completing a dangerous three-point-turn in the Austrian mountains
This truck-driving logger is barking mad and has the world’s toughest commute – doing a three point turn every day off the side of a MOUNTAIN.
Joachim Held, 43, drives along the perilous route twice a day as he takes trees up and down the peaks of Eisenerz, near Styria, Austria.

The manoeuvre begins with Held at the left of the shot, ready to reverse. Amazingly he completes the turn twice a day, every day
The logger gingerly backs towards the cliff edge, swinging the empty rear trailer out and over the ledge
Twice a day he does a 3-point turn on the side of a mountain, with a 1,000 ft (300 metre) drop just inches away. One bad judgement call and his lumber hauling days are over.
Joachim, works as a trucker taking logs down from the peaks of Eisenerz, near Styria, Austria. Most of his twice daily commute is tough but not insane. However at one point along his journey he is forced to turn around his truck and trailer on a hair pin bend. There’s no safety barrier, and not even a solid road surface, just compacted mud and gravel.

Commenting on his twice-daily tempting of fate, Joachim says:
“I have done this so many years that it’s second nature now. I can understand why people find it scary. The drop is more than 1,000 ft – if something goes wrong I’m dead, so that’s why I make sure that things never go wrong.”

Easy does it: After some delicate positioning Held is pointing in the right direction and ready to drive away

And he's off: Held has survived this time, but will have to complete the turn again later
