Largest Ever Science Project Is Being Build – Nuclear Fusion Reactor

The world’s most powerful countries are collaborating on the ITER project (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) in France. The $50 billion facility will heat gas to 150 million degrees in an attempt to create a nuclear fusion reaction when it becomes fully operational in 2027.



U.S. Navy researchers announced this week that they have managed to successfully convert sea water into usable fuel for ships and aircraft. To do this, they extract carbon dioxide and hydrogen gas simultaneously seawater and then use a catalytic converter to create the fuel that resembles (and odors) as well as the true essence. Continue reading for a video and information supplémentaires.Selon dvice, "the benefits of fuel-based seawater is twofold. First, the ships do not need to be redesigned in order to to use the new fuel-based seawater, since it is essentially the same. Second, the possibility of creating fuel from all that water around the aircraft carrier means self-sufficiency. The U.S. Navy aircraft carrier plans to be able to create their own fuel, fuel for aircraft. Oil so long! Altaeros Energies , a company that builds wind turbines, has completed the design for highest wind turbine, which is located at a height of 305 meters above the ground. The project, called BAT (BUOY Airborne Turbine), is the first floating wind turbine (floating) in air and mounted in Alaska.

This solution is considered extremely flexible, inexpensive and ideal for communities in remote areas without access to a conventional power supply. The turbine can provide enough energy to power more than 12 ordinary houses with all necessary utilities. It can be transported and set up quickly without the need for large cranes and tall or strong foundations that can prevent wind projects in some areas more difficult to access.

     This new model can successfully replace wind generator power generators fired at much lower prices. Target customers include remote communities and islands with small mining or oil and gas, farms, telecommunications companies, organizations, disaster relief, and military bases.

     The system uses an inflatable balloon filled with helium, which can be raised at high altitudes, where winds are stronger and more consistent. The balloon actually a small balloon is anchored to the ground with high strength cables that send and electricity from the earth. They are calculated to withstand the wind storm intensity level for tens of years, can support other communication equipment have heavy and multiple security features, including the provision of a slow descent to the ground. The pilot project in Alaska is more than 80 feet taller than the tallest wind turbine mounted far (Denmark, the Østerild, Vestas V164-8.0 MW, with a height of 220 meters).

If you ever happen to be wandering through the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt, you may come across a surreal sight that’ll leave you scratching your head. It might even make you question your sanity. Or theirs.

However, local authorities weren't too happy about the theater.



Hundreds of movie theater seats sit at the bottom of a random mountain range, as if they were dropped in the middle of the Egyptian desert. They aren’t a mirage or art installation, and Estonian photographer, Kaupo Kikkas, has proof. It’s simply one of the most random outdoor theaters in existence: The End of the World Cinema.
The mundane nature of the theater juxtaposed with the miles of nothingness that stretch out around it makes my skin crawl.


On the night of the premier, everything went wrong and the generator was sabotaged. No movies were ever screened here.
And yet, it still stands.

Brilliant engineers in China have become the world’s first to build part of a massive overpass and rotate it into place so as not to disturb railways passing under the bridge. The 17,000 ton section at Wuhan City, was swung into place on January 15 after being constructed parallel to the high speed railway track.

The whole process took only 90 minutes as engineers rotated the section 106 degrees on a 15 meter high axis. This intuitive solution was a first for China, but was necessary because this part of the railway was considered too important to be shut down temporarily. Upon completion, the 256-meter long overpass will span 11 railways including the 1,428 mile long Beijing-Guangzhou service.

The bridge will be open for traffic by the end of this month. With the country’s high speed rail network being the largest in the world, it is no wonder that the engineers did not deem it feasible to halt the track beneath the bridge. The necessity pushed the engineers to come up with a creative and innovative solution, proving that engineers can make anything possible.

The Community Bookself is an intriguing piece of architecture at the Public Library 
in Kansas City, Missouri resembling a book shelf. This striking façade, which runs
 along the south wall of the Central Library, features book spines measuring 25 
feet by 9 feet, and showcases 22 titles reflecting a wide variety of
 reading interests suggested by readers.






A small start-up called TrackingPoint revealed their first in a range of ‘smart rifles’. What makes this rifle different is that unlike ordinary sniper rifles, which required a great deal of training and expertise before they can be used to kill at long range, the smart rifle can be picked up by a complete novice and be used just as effectively. It’s so simple that even a 12 year old could use it.

The scopes on the rifle contain small Linux-based computers that do all the calculations and ‘thinking’. All the complex calculations which are required to hit a target 1,000 yards away are done by that small computer. Shooters simply have to aim the rifle at the target and ‘tag’ it using a button in front of the trigger guard. After tagging the target, the shooters simply lineup their shot with the on-screen reticle which turns red when a probable hit is detected. Once the target turns red, the shooter simply pulls the trigger.

The smart rifle will allow inexperienced shooters to hit their target with a 70 percent success rate on the first shot with a target distance of 1000 yards. Trained army snipers have a hit rate of 30 percent on their first shot using traditional sniper rifles. This amazing increment in performance is what persuaded the US Army to order six of these rifles at $27,000 each.

The Linux-based computers in the rifles can be connected through a network and be triggered remotely by a single shooter. This makes the smart rifle a truly lethal weapon.

Through its various sensors such as accelerometers , the gyroscopes and altimeters , it will provide a wealth of detailed information. It will also include a microphone and speakers that will take calls and possibly provide voice commands.

The Recon Jet , the technological part, is designed to be mounted on a pair of sunglasses and offers a wealth of information at a glance on your external environment. Normally expected during the summer, Recon Jet are not yet marketed. And besides, no price has yet been announced. Be aware that the price of ski masks using the Recon Technology, out for two seasons (at Scott and elsewhere) are around 500 euros. Not given for the eye of Terminator ...

As if there weren't enough real jellyfish around to trigger our thalassophobia, researchers at Virginia Tech have created Cryo -- an eight-armed autonomous robot that mimics jelly movement with the help of a flexible silicone hat. The man-sized jellybot altogether dwarfs pre
vious efforts, hence the upgrade from small tank to swimming pool for mock field tests. And unlike the passively propelled bots we'veseen recently, Cryo runs on batteries, with the researchers hoping to better replicate the energy-efficient nature of jelly movement to eventually increase Cryo's charge cycle to months instead of hours. That's also the reason these robotic jellyfish are getting bigger -- because the larger they are, the further they can go.Potential uses include ocean monitoring and perhaps clearing oil spills, but the US Navy, which is funding the work, sees an opportunity to recruit jellies for underwater surveillance -- a job the researchers say is suited to their natural-looking disguise.
