This weird-looking, pink shark – almost prehistoric – is one of the least-known species of the shark family. The freaky Goblin shark lives in deep waters off the coast of Japan. So it is amazingly rare in the US waters. The last and only sighting in the Gulf of Mexico was made over 10 years ago.

The new incredibly rare, almost prehistoric looking goblin shark is 18 feet long and was accidentally pulled up by shrimpers in the Gulf of Mexico near Key West, Florida, on April 19, 2014.

Terrified by the teeth and the size of the deep sea creature, the captain, Carl Moore, decided to throw the creature back into the water. But luckily, he also took some pictures of the beast for his grandson.
